Artist Spotlight:   Injunuity

Injunuity - Unconquered In 2001 I was introduced to Brad Clonch's music with his release of Midnight. An exceptional debut album featuring Brad on piano solos when he was just 21.

It was a calming and relaxing evening with a keyboard virtuoso!

Brad released "Finding Windsong" in 2006 and once again I was truly amazed at how he had matured (his hair had gotten longer also).

He was now mastering the Native flute and combining his skills with the keyboard to create an amazing journey.

The other day I received "Unconquered" and once again Brad has undergone a metamorphosis. This time with the amazing Jeff Carpenter, Boyd Weldon Gross and James Monroe they are "Injunuity" and they FLY!

Injunuity is a group of highly talented and respectful masters of their craft. Keep an eye on these young men. We expect great things for them. Please allow us to introduce "Injunuity"!

Beginning in 2007 with an odd span of events that led this unlikely group to become the new, all native, all original band that is known as Injunuity, started with Nammy Nominated and ADDY Award Winning solo native flute artist Brad Clonch (Mississippi Choctaw) collaborating together with guitarist Jeff Carpenter (Chickasaw).

Performing as a duet with their first performance at the Riverwind Casino, the music turned heads of all ages and Brad and Jeff collaborated together on several new pieces. The duet wasn't enough.

Along came Mr. Boyd Weldon Gross the 2nd (which he will introduce as a full title as if he were English) an extraordinary electric guitar player who happend to be Choctaw, as well as an old school mate of Brad's. The odd connection was that while in Dallas studying at Media Tech before Brad and Jeff met in Ada working together in a multimedia studio, Jeff (Audio Engineer Guru) had recorded a past project of Boyd's. Boyd decided to jump on board and the trio was born.

Injunuity - Unconquered
After playing a few shows and starting a small following, the group lacked some thump and some soul. Turning to the virtuosso bassist of Ada Oklahoma, James Monroe (Chickasaw Plus Several Other Tribes!) a past school mate of both Brad and Boyds, and ironically another musician who Jeff had recorded in the past in Dallas before knowing Brad. The quartet was formed!

Performing several shows and gaining more attention and prospective CD sales...oops I mean fans...the group now named "Injunuity" was branded! Long time friend and school mate of Jeff's, Nate Sweeney, put the finishing touches on the anticipated EP "Unconquered". Injunuity is ALL NEW, ALL ORIGINAL, ALL NATIVE band coming to a pow wow near you soon!

Injunuity - Unconquered

Injunuity wanted to form an all Native American group who represented one or more tribal nations. Choctaw guitarist Boyd Gross II joined the group followed by Chickasaw bass player James Monroe. After deciding to go with the name Injunuity, the group played several locations across Oklahoma and released their first 6 tracks EP entitled "Unconquered". Injunuity is gaining fast exposure and playing different venues throughout the United States.

Performing together for no more than 4 months and covering several appearances, the group synced together seamlessly and even won a New Years Eve Celebration 2nd Place in Battle of the Bands with their unique Native Alternative Rock sound. With help from Robbie Blair (Chickasaw) on the Djembe and other percussion as well as running sound for the group, Injunuity is bringing Native American flute music to the next level!

Artist Spotlight:   Brad Clonch

Performing and writing since age 12, now 25 year old Brad Clonch is releasing his anticipated full length cross cultured Native Album "Finding Windsong". As a 2002 NAMMY (Native American Music Award) nominee with this second album "Midnight", Brad was determined to explore the mystery of the native flute, and combine the traditional sounds of his Native American culture with his contemporary modern sound of string orchestrations and piano. Brad has won numerous ADDY Awards for production pieces ranging from choreographed dance performances, to Radio and Television PSA's. In past years, he has taken part in numerous tribal leadership camps, culture camps, and has been a guest speaker through out the state of Oklahoma speaking to native youth on issues involving education, aspirations, culture, and identity to name a few. Previous works include: "WITHOUT YOU" (1999) Brad Clonch (Piano) "MIDNIGHT" (2002) Brad Clonch (Piano, Orchestrations, Guitar) "FINDING WINDSONG" (2006) Brad Clonch (Native Album)

"Music is a cultural journey through finding a native sound to who you are. In this album, I explored the instruments of my culture, people, and tradition and combined those with what I have learned through mainstream music form. I hope to send a unique listening experience that takes the listener to a new place that is stimulating and relaxing."---Brad Clonch (Mississippi Choctaw with Chickasaw Influences!)
